There's a moment every year in Southern Maine when you can still enjoy warm weather when the summer crowds head home at the end of August. Throughout September, the mornings turn cool and crisp while the beaches grow quiet. The parking spots open up, the ocean gets a bit angrier because of hurricane season, and suddenly York isn't a bustling beach town. New England Fall arrives, and as Summer dies, a new feel about the town is born. When York Slows Down

Summer in York is wonderful, but Fall is when the coast really slows down and lets you take it all in. One of the best parts about York being a New England coastal town is that in the fall, the sunrises arrive at a much friendlier hour than they do in June.
